Drama Genre

Drama.

Yea, sure! we've all heard of the word drama before whether it's to describe a person like "Dramatic" or "Drama Queen" as well as drama in theaters or movies. We have always correlated drama to some sort of constant conflict involving humans and real-life situations. When it comes to cinematography,  Drama film is a genre that relies on the emotional and relational development of realistic characters. While Drama film relies heavily on this kind of development, dramatic themes play a large role in the plot as well. Often, these dramatic themes are taken from intense, real-life issues.

In the United States, the most popular television programs are by far those within the drama category. A 2017 study showed that 33 percent of primetime TV programs were drama shows, almost double the share of comedy or reality programs.

Target Audience: Coming of age films usually target audiences in their teenage years a range between 13-18 since it's an audience that will most likely relate to the content or plot of the movie. In some films, there might be an inclusion revolving more explicit and controversial themes for older audiences
