Final Reflection.
Welcome back, bloggers! well, this project is almost done and I must say, this experience could be really compared to a roller coaster. This project has driven me in a roller coaster full of emotions and knowledge at the same time and this project was not like any other project I have ever been assigned to. For beginners, all students had to learn to adapt and even change projects back to square one due to the epidemic we are living through and as of right now there are still many uncertainties when it comes to knowing when we will all go back to normality and it takes time for us to adapt and get used to something completely new. Due to the circumstances, we found ourselves with limited options about many things that before were essential to the project like, location of the opening film and being able to actually see your partner discuss and develop the project together. Luis and I as a team faced many challenges that gladly we were able to fix just in time! It became rigorous and tedious to work alone and have so much pressure in one's shoulder with the lack of communication we often struggled in getting messages across but at last we found a way to manage and overcome our problems.
Having to replace my characters and place my siblings into the place was an odd challenge that I had to deal with when it came to the day of filming. Neither of them had experience with anything relating to the media subject, so it took some time to teach them everything my teacher had taught me along the course. Somehow, we were able to manage and pull through filming day! When it came to editing my partner and I faced some other challenges as our vision of the film was not as equal as we thought, besides the situation, we are currently placed in made us be at the edge of our seats and be a little more irritable to the issues we were currently going through. after around 200 video calls and several discussions we, were able to figure out a way to visualize and edit the film we had made to satisfy both our vision and needs for this project.
Overall, this project not only has made me expand my knowledge about media and techniques but it has also taught me that there are always solutions to problems and one can adapt faster than it seems. One has to always hope for the best and keep their head up in these awful times, oh and PATIENCE will always be the key!

Below you guys can find a copy of the Script for our Opening film "Me Before Me"

Behind The Mic.
Even though many say I have the potential to really sing and perform, I didn't feel according to singing the song I composed since I knew the voice didn't go as well and of course I wanted the song to be as perfect as it can be. As I've mentioned before a very close friend of mine who has been surrounded and involved by the world of theatre and music I thought she was the perfect candidate to sing the song for our opening film. Her voice, we believe fits perfectly with the song and the lyrics. So a couple of weeks ago before we started filming I asked her if she could sing the song for us, and gladly she agreed to help us. Her name, Alejandra Ruiz.
Due to the situation, the way she was able to learn the song was by video-calling each other and practicing for weeks, I had to send her the melody, the lyrics for her to be able to memorize the song. I told her to add her own pitch to it and I believe it improved the song even more! Here below is a small clip of her practicing the song for our opening film.

Filming Finally Done.
After many troubles regarding the dates and places as to where to film as well as the fact that Luis and I would have to be separated during this significant process in the project, we were finally able to pull through the filming day! It took about 2 hours to get everything in, and I was really surprised by the acting skills that my siblings were able to display in this situation. We did have a little trouble when it came to memorizing the lines of the script but after some practice and breaks to memorize the lines, they were able to pull through all right!
Some challenges we faced was when we were filming in different angles, we had to make sure that our movement and tone of voice completely matched with the first video we filmed. To overcome that we watched the first recording a couple of times s well as we managed to mark the exact places where the characters were all sitting.
Another challenge that was faced was the fact that I had to teach my father all the shots, angles, and skills my professor had taught us throughout the semester. I had to somehow simplify and give him a resumed version of all movements and angles I wanted to capture the scene in. I had to sit with him for around an hour for him to really understand and retain all the information I was giving him about the shots. It was one of the few times was I taught him something rather than the other way. I knew I had made him curious about media since it isn't just only about taping a few times and putting it all together, it's the angles, shots, movements, and, lighting that really put it all together.
