Research Week

Research Week.

Before we started planning anything, I wanted to make sure there was a complete plot in the story, not only a storyboard that was fust fine for the opening film. We finally decided that we wanted to base our plot on an individual who suffers from psychotic disorders more specifically being a psychopath and having OCD.
Previous from this project I never really had much knowledge or interest about the different and most rare mental disorders from which people suffer from, I decided to dig into some research to get to know my character a little better!
Several different options we had in mind were:

Schizophrenia: are characterized by distortions in thinking, perception, emotions, language, sense of self and behaviour. Common psychotic experiences include hallucinations (hearing, seeing or feeling things that are not there) and delusions (fixed false beliefs or suspicions that are firmly held even when there is evidence to the contrary).

Dissociative Identity Disorder: (DID) people who suffer from DID often have 2-3 different identities (and sometimes more). Sufferers routinely cycle through their personalities, and can remain as one identity for hours or for years.

Psychopath: a person suffering from a chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behavior.

OCD:by immense fear, anxiety, and recurring thoughts of worry. It’s only through the repetition of tasks, including the well-known obsession with cleanliness, that sufferers of OCD are able to find relief from such overwhelming feelings.

After all options we decided it was best to make a combinated distorted with shred symptoms of a psychopath and the OCD disorder since we thought it was best to fit with the plot of our story and it would be more intriguing than the usual thriller films.
